KÖRPER OHNE MACHT
Part 3 of the Solo-Trilogy Körper ohne Macht
Can there ever be a body that exists beyond power? A body that neither loses itself in the other nor continues its self in the other? In „Körper ohne Macht“, the final piece of the eponymous solo trilogy, Angela Schubot embarks on a search for a debordered body of "non-power" and the experience of physical continuity without power.
If "In the blind Spot," as the first part of the trilogy puts the exhausted body at its center, which, in the second part "The Fire from within," receives an conjuring healing, Schubot now makes a body perceivable, that escapes the holds of power and wants more than itself. A body that can´t but open up more and more and that becomes one with its inner and outer surroundings.

For me, it's THE work you’re at, what it is all about. that moves me, because I do not see that so often. all too often, it's about what's over or under or around, but not the real thing I'm experiencing with you. so far, it's an evening that negotiates something like "essence". maybe that's why my picture with the ectoderm, the embryonic tissue. not because of fetus or baby or something, but soemething before that or afterwards. you open doors to a land most of us ( i believe) even don't know it exists.

"Another, perhaps the most radical, type of immersion was developed by Angela Schubot in her "Körper ohne Macht"- Trilogy(2015), where realtime meditation approached the paradox of a physical presence permeable to space:" In a zero-sum economy of Power, no other can occupy the space I occupy. I tried to reverse that principle by pervading the body with space. "Politically thought, with this hypothesis she has found a possible means to override the chain reaction of capitalism-appropriation (neo) colonialism. In the last part of the trilogy, the outer body shape seems to become amorphous, revealing an ethereal babbling, drooling, vegetative monster - like an unresolved fairy tale character. It works like a primordial process of decomposition, which eeriness results from a shift from form into matter experience. Angela Schubot: "It's about a principle that carries me. I can hang up myself in it as if I hang my own body like clothes in the wardrobe“

wenn ich von „körper ohne macht“ spreche, dann meine ich „macht“ in dem sinn, dass es ein selbst/ich/ego gibt, welches räume besetzt und sich kontinuiert in den raum rein, in den anderen rein, welches sich ausdehnt; habe beim tanzen oft erlebt, dass ein unbekannter raum sich auftut, etwas neues, ganz unbesetztes erscheint, was weder „du-oder ich-textur“ hat, was weich ist und ohne zweifel. und die gewohnheit ist dann oft, dass dieser raum sofort von einem ich besetzt wird, als ob man dieses „unbesetzte“ nicht ertragen könnte.
macht geht über verfügungsgewalt: „ich bestrafe dich“, bis hin zu deutungshoheit:“das bedeutet das“, aber auch: ich gleiche dich mir an, damit du zu einer verlängerung meiner selbst wirst, eliminiere das andere, vergleiche etwas mit etwas, gleiche an.
und ich frage mich, ob das auch für den umgang mit sich selbst gilt?
und ich frage mich, was körperliche ausdehnung nach innen und aussen ist ohne macht?
was entstanden ist, ist ein experiment, sich irgendwie jenseits von macht aufzuhalten, genau das „unbesetzte“ zu ertragen, zu feiern.
auch wenn das nur für momente gelingen kann. alles, was ich mache, muss dafür da sein, gleichzeitig von drinnen und draussen bewegt zu werden und sein und wahrnehmung nicht mehr zu trennen.
